Breast Augmentation And Liposuction Information

Breast augmentation mammoplasty is also known as a breast enlargement. This procedure improves the contours of the body of women who are unhappy with the size of their breasts. Correcting the loss of volume after a pregnancy, help in balancing the asymmetrical breast size or reconstructive technique after a breast surgery are all possible through breast augmentation.

The procedure is done on an outpatient basis and carried out under general anesthesia. By making an incision, the surgeon will place a prosthesis or an implant under the muscle, under the breast tissue, or through an incision near the region of the belly button. The incision can also be made around the nipple, in the armpit or under the breast. The entire procedure will be finished in one or two hours. Saline (salt water) filled silicone sacks form part of the breast implant. The outer surface will look textured and smooth. Depending upon the individual need, the surgeon will select from implants that comes in various shapes and sizes.

Breast enlargement is one of the results of the breast augmentation but the basic defects in the form or shape of the breast will not be altered by the surgery. There will not be total correction of the asymmetrical breast but it will be improved by the surgery. The slight difference in shape or size is not abnormal and it is not a cause for worry. Only when the size of the breast or position of the nipple is very asymmetric then a further corrective procedure is needed. The majority of women achieve satisfactory results after breast augmentation.

The other popular and common procedure is Liposuction, which, is designed to remove the fatty tissue also known as cellulite. When isolated areas in the body do not respond to diet or exercise for the reduction of excess fat, the surgeon will remove it by this elective procedure. Some of the areas involved in this procedure are neck, face, ankles, knees, abdomen, thighs and hips. People with good skin tone and who carry fatty deposits get satisfactory results from Liposuction. Obesity cannot be treated by this procedure. There is a limit on how much fatty tissue is removed at any given time, in order to maintain the procedural safety.

As the swelling subsides, there will be a noticeable and improved result after this procedure. Within a day after the surgery the patient should be up and walking around. Complete activity can be resumed in two to four weeks time. Until all the bruising is subsided, exposure to sun should be avoided.

Exercise During Pregnancy - The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

Are you pregnant? Has your doctor told you to get moving in some way, to do some sort of exercise? (By the way, ALWAYS check with a doctor before beginning an exercise program.)

Exercise can either be your best friend or your worst enemy. Here is some food for thought if you are struggling with starting an exercise program during your pregnancy.

==> The Good.

You need to exercise during pregnancy. You need to gently stretch and stay as flexible as possible. This can make a huge difference in the quality of your delivery and recovery.

I know. I've had four full time pregnancies and I've experienced firsthand the difference staying flexible can make. Exercise also keeps your body working at a higher efficiency rate which will help you sleep better and improve your digestion, two things not to be taken lightly during pregnancy.

The difference exercise during pregnancy can make for your post-partum recovery is amazing. Again, I can tell you from firsthand experience, that a comfortable and reasonable fitness routine (simple walking is terrific) can help your body 'snap back' like nothing else.

Physical exercise has been shown to improve moods. Girlfriend, we know how to have moods when we're pregnant, don't we? Enough said.

And don't forget this vital point. A healthier mom means a healthier baby. How can you argue with that?

==> The Bad.

Exercise performed during pregnancy is different than exercise at other times. You've got to be extra-sensitive to your body needs. You've got to go slower and be willing to stop sooner. You must be willing to be flexible in your choice of exercise, too. If you like to run, you probably won't be able to keep that up your entire pregnancy. Of course, that choice will be between you and your doctor.

Still, all those points have a silver lining. A great exercise for pregnancy is swimming. And hey, no one cares what you look like in a bathing suit! In fact, being pregnant is a wonderful time to celebrate the beauty of your body. Take advantage, buy a cute suit, and head for the water.

An additional safety point to consider when you exercise is not to overheat. I've experienced this, as well, and it is not fun. I was only fourteen weeks pregnant, but the weather was hot and humid. I was playing horseshoes (hardly an aerobic sport), but after a short time I was feeling terrible. The people around me were commenting on how flushed I looked. When I went inside it took a very long time for me to cool down, much longer than normal.

So be careful. Exercise during pregnancy is meant to benefit you and your baby, but that means it needs to be moderate and regulated. Save the Olympics for later.

==> The Ugly.

You're pregnant. You feel sick. You're tired. Exercise?? Are you crazy?

It's true. Even the most die-hard fitness gal often finds motivation for exercise during her pregnancy much more difficult. So if you are not a regular exerciser, you're wondering how you can possibly pull this off. Even if you know it's very important to your health and your baby's well-being, it can be hard to simply get started.

The number one recommendation I can give you is to not to do this on your own. It's just too big of a leap during this season in your life. The great news is you have some excellent options that can make your exercise time downright fun.

Look for an exercise system or group specifically designed for pregnant women. (For a detailed review of such a system, see the author's resource box following this article.) Look for one that gives abundant support. This is crucial! You need to be in regular contact with other exercising pregnant women. This will give you the motivation you need to keep up your exercise program even when you don't feel like it.

Let's face it. You'll need someplace to vent and share openly about your pregnancy experiences. An exercise group of other moms-to-be could be a very, very helpful thing to you. I highly recommend it.

So do something wonderful for yourself and your baby today and get moving!

14 Rules Of Business Referral Etiquette

One of the key roles of management is to build business through relationships. A common way to build relationships is through referrals: with, for and through banks, attorneys, employees, peers, and anyone else who has something that someone else wants or needs. The better you are at managing the referral, the better off you and those in your organization will be. Unfortunately, even though most referrals start with good intentions, theyre conducted haphazardly and dont yield the results people expect. Its often the reason that referrals are not offered. Who wants to be burned? The tips in this article should help you control the outcomes and get what you want.

Everyone has been embarrassed by their association with another person at one time or another. How about that cousin you wouldnt want anyone to know about? But what happens when the embarrassment happens in a business situation: more specifically, when you refer one person to another and one of those parties is unprofessional or just plain screws up? Making a bad connection could cost you money or something more valuable and much harder to recoupyour reputation.

We once stepped into an awkward situation when we referred a business peer, seeking a specific product, to one of our clients, who just so happened to offer that very product. We thought we were doing a good thing, a win-win-win thinguntil we received a phone call from our client explaining that the referred person made a vulgar offer to a woman on the clients staff when she said she couldnt go any lower on her price. We were shocked. Our client ended the conversation with, "I'm not sure what to do, but what he [the business peer] did was disrespectful to my staff and to you. I'm going to let you handle this." The outcome was hardly the one we were shooting for. All we could do was apologize and hope our reputation didnt take too big a hit.

The referral is part of Business 101, and its a valuable way to extend your business connections. Typical referrals involve three parties: the person who wants something, the person who has something to give, and the person who connects the two. Sounds simple and cleanbut as our bad experience shows, sometimes things get messy. So what can you do to facilitate successful referrals? That depends on which of the three roles youre playing. Here they are.

The person who wants something. If someone connects you to another party, remember to:

1.respect relationships that others have developed. Consider it your way of saying thanks to the person who made the connection.

2.stay professional and avoid being too casual or friendly. A referral ONLY opens a door of opportunity. Youre still responsible for building your own relationship.

3.conduct yourself in a way that honors the referrer. Your actions represent yourself AND the person who gave you the referral.

4.leave foul language at the door. Everyone has a different tolerance point.

5.keep ethics above board. To do so will net you a double win. To fail will curse you with a double loss at the very least. Good news travels; bad news travels faster.

6.check the ego. Don't believe that your credentials, awards, accomplishments and the referral impress everyone so much that you can leave your manners at the door.

The person who has something to give. If someone sends business your way, make sure you:

1.deliver what you promise, and promise only what you KNOW you can deliver. If you find that you cant help out, be honest about it and say thank you.

2.make good on any mistakes that occur. People understand that errors happen. Keep both of the other two parties interests in mind when taking responsibility for those errors.

3.if you want to keep the referral business pouring in, make sure you meet or exceed the expectations of the person doing the referring. Hint: theyre expecting you to make them look good.

4.never bad mouth the person who referred the business or the one providing the service. What you say will almost surely get back to them.

The person who connects the two. Before you connect one person to another, make sure you:

1.know whom youre dealing with. Only connect people who will show you in a good lightthat goes for the person who wants something as well as the one who has something to give.

2.arent connecting people for the soul purpose of getting reciprocal referrals. A client in Boston complained about giving out referrals but rarely getting them in return. Instead of expecting referrals, he learned that the real value came back to him in the form of strengthened business relationships with others.

3.kick off the transaction in a professional fashion. Whether by telephone, email, or in person, set a tone of respect by introducing each person as a respected professional.

4.butt out when you see the relationship blossom. Chalk up the connection as another success and move on.

Referral etiquette is basically pretty simple. Behave yourself, respect others, and do the right thing. Then make sure you deal only with those who do the same. The combination is a winning formula for building new business relationships and strengthening old ones.

Clues for Dating Vintage Clothing

With celebrities such as Barbara Streisand, Sarah Jessica Parker, Winona Ryder, Sharon Stone, Drew Barrymore and Michael Richards flaunting their trendy wardrobes vintage fashions have become very popular. Whether you want to establish a collection of clothes from bygone eras or you would just like a few unique pieces to add oomph to your wardrobe, it is interesting to know the history of your piece.

How do you know if the 1930s silk charmuese nightgown advertised on Ebay is really from the 1930s era? Now if you absolutely love the colour or style well maybe the age does not matter. If you do not want to pay a premium for something that is not as advertised, it is important to learn a few pointers.

There are numerous ways to date garments. You can shop with confidence when you know what clues to watch for.

For instance - How are the seams finished? Are they pinked, Frenched or serged? Sergers and overlock machines have been around since the 1950s, but were not in homes until around 1964. Inspecting the seams of custom-made items may not tell you for sure when it was made, but it can let you know for sure when it wasnt made.

Examination of the seams on store bought, mass produced clothing of the 1950s, shows that most were pinked. Overcast seams, welted seams or Frenched seams were usually only found on very expensive garments. Overlock seams did start showing up in lingerie during the 1950s. By the early 1960s all lingerie had overlocked seams, and the use of the overlock stitch was beginning to appear in other garments made of fabric that would frey easily.

A 1965 catalogue ad mentions that a garment featured overlocked seams, while another ad boasts overlock seams in 1960s lingerie. The term is not a selling point in fashions of today as most attire has overlocked or serged seams.

Another indication of age is the use of the zipper. Patented in 1893 the first zipper was called a clasp locker. These zippers were not practical. Although a zipper was developed in 1913 with interlocking teeth, it was slow to catch on.

Zippers were first put in childrens clothing in the 1930s and replaced the button fly in mens trousers around 1937. There were a few zippers in women's clothing of the 1940's, but most garments still possessed button fasteners, until the 1950s when they finally became popular.

Catalogues from the mid 1960s boast about the wonders of nylon zippers. Nylon zippers were thought to be less bulky, easier to hide and more comfortable than the old metal zippers.

Keep in mind that the presence or absence of a zipper and the type of zipper provides clues to the age of the garment but that other factors still need consideration. As zippers can be replaced, metal zippers are not a guarantee that the item was manufactured before 1960. Similarly, a vintage garment may have had a broken zipper replaced by a nylon one.

These are just a couple of points to consider when identifying vintage clothing. Other factors to take into account are fabrics, styles and labels.

Use a bit of logic with what you learn to decide if the item is desirable.

Are You A Stalking Victim?

A stalker is someone that willfully, maliciously and repeatedly follows or harasses another (person) and makes a credible threat accompanied by the intent to place the victim in fear for their personal safety.

High-profile cases of celebrities being stalked by ex-lovers, out of control fans or paparazzi have raised the public's concern to this crime. However the majority of stalking victims are ordinary people, mostly women which are being pursued and threatened by someone with whom they have had a prior relationship.

Over one million women and 350,000 men are stalking victims each year, 1 in 12 women and 1 in 45 men will be a stalking victim during their lifetime. With these types of numbers we are hard pressed to control this growing crisis, statistics and research show that stalking cases are rising annually.

Stalking victims are in a state of constant fear 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. The ongoing nature of being a stalking victim can cause traumatic psychological damage to the victim.

If you feel that you are a victim of a stalker there are precautions to take to protect yourself, these tips are for someone who may find themselves in present danger from a stalker.

Find a safe place such as a police station, well lit and well populated public areas, your home or family members home, or the local shelter.

Contact law enforcement officials immediately or as soon as possible dial 911.

If you need help, ask for it!

Do not ignore the stalker; He/She will not go away. Be alert at all times.

Do not confront the perpetrator. You do not want the situation to become violent.

Keep you personal protection equipment readily available.

Once the situation has been contained, your safety has been secured there are other precautions that can be taken to remain safe.

Always identify yourself as a stalking victim to the authorities, and request complete confidentially for any information given, reports taken under oath, and all legal documentation filed. Remember that all information given to the authorities can be used against you in the court of law.

File a restraining order against the offender immediately.

Get an unlisted telephone number. If possible keep you old phone line active, this will help avoid an escalation to personal contact. )

Get a P.O. Box for legal purposes as any filings will be public record. This prevents someone from getting any additional personal information.

Notify all family members, close friends, and co-workers about your situation. Alert them to be suspicious of people inquiring about your whereabouts or schedule.

Keep documentation of all occurrences such as police reports or personal log.
Documentation can be photos, written entries, medical reports or answering
machine messages among other things.

Be prepared, keep a small packed suitcase in your trunk, important telephone numbers on hand, and obtain a personal protection device.

Consult a medical professional if you feel it is needed, being a victim of a stalker is an extremely stressful situation for anyone.

Advanced home security practices should be considered. Install a security system and security lighting where needed, along with deadbolts on entry doors and security locks on the windows.

Stalking victims may not show the physical bruises of someone that is violently attacked; they are however mentally assaulted day after day. No one should have to live life under these conditions, live their life in constant fear. Take the first steps on the road to regaining peace of mind and your personal freedom.
